I am a very satisfied DirectTV customer. However, this call is by a telemarketing company, in a business relationship with DirecTV, to encourage customers to take advantage of free upgrades to their current service and/or equipment, in exchange for their commitment to extend their service contract. While I have taken many of these upgrade offers over the course of the last 22 years, I prefer to contact DTV directly for upgrades. I did respond to one these telemarketing calls, thinking that I was talking to DTV. At some point in the conversation, when I realized that I was not actually talking DTV, I asked to be, and was transfered to a DTV CS Rep. I then discovered that the deals offered by the telemarketers were not totaly in sync with what was actually available for my account. There were some issues with the real lack of familarity with the telemarketers knowledge of DTV equipment and sericves. At which point I declined DTV's upgrades and resolved to limit my upgrades to conversations only with DTV CS Reps.
