save his number & set the ring tone for it to a silent ring tone . . . best chance of getting them to go away is to make them think your number is inactive by not answering it . . . they go directly to the voice mail and all I get is the chirp saying "Scammer XYZ" called . I know who it is and I don't have to acknowledge them.
Victor, with such a heavy Indian accent that I had difficulty understanding him, called to tell me that he was receiving error messages from my Windows computer. I acted shocked and scared and asked him what was I to do!? He asked me to go to my computer and he would give me a "code" to fix my computer. At that point I told him my computer was a Mac and in all likelihood, he was not getting messages from my computer. That flustered him and he said have a nice day and humg up. He had called the night before and I asked to have my number removed but that made no impact.

Received yet another call from "Windows", not MicroSoft but "Windows". The guy calling was nearly impossible to understand but said my computer was sending error messages to "Windows" and had been infected by a new virus. He wanted to provide me with a code that would correct the problem. I asked where he was calling from and he said "Windows" I asked if it was MicroSoft and he said no that it was the administrative team for "Windows" and he is located in Miami Florida. After a brief discussion of what the "problem" was and how I was going to have to enter a special code to correct it I asked if this would be a problem since I use a Mac and "Windows" was not part of the operating system nor had I ever installed a version of Windows for Mac. He said that wasn't a problem that someone had apparently installed the Windows along with the virus and it needed to be removed using the code he could provide. I had him give me the code and when I read it back to him I purposely reversed several of the numbers - after correcting me (several times) I finally told him that my system wouldn't accept the code he was providing (I of course didn't bother to try) and that I would not be able to remove the virus. I took up about 20 minutes of his time and he got absolutely nothing from me be it was fun keeping him on the phone and preventing someone else from getting his call.
I have gotten 4 calls in the last 3 days from this number, all claiming to be from Windows. I have tried telling him I have a mac, that I run Linux OS, that I have turned him in to BBB and that I want to be removed from their calling list or I will file a police report for harassment all to no avail. They just called again and when I asked for their physical address he gave me to a "supervisor" whose accent was even worse. I told them that my lawyer needed the address to send the restraining order to and the immediately hung up. Hopefully this will put a stop to them calling. - Website guys, you need an option for call type of SCAM - thanks
I had the same experience as the other callers. A man with atheavy Indian accent cliaming to be from Windows. He said he was recieving error messages and that I woudl need to sign on and he woudl wak me thorugh the mesages so tha tI can corect the problem.
