Got essentially the same message. The guy kept talking and making the vacation scenario better and better! My phone said the call was from Florida. Too many red flags.
I was given my telephone by my company. I have not given the number out and I do not answer unless I know who is calling. I have rec'd so many unwanted scam calls. I now write the number down so I don't have to keep looking it up. This is one of the many. I want to say thank you to the people who know who the caller is and writes here to tell us. I have even rec'd many now from Restricted.. I answered today to see who it was but no tape and no one talked. This 786.... number I did not but I used this site and am thankful to the person who was able to get the info.
Its a legitimate business out of Miami. I didn't go, but the company they represent takes the financial hit on the first trip. If you don't bite on the first offer, the agency will sweeten it based on the"half a loaf is better than no loaf of bread." It is just a call center; with working class people trying to make a living, reading from a script. Florida has very strict call center laws, that these people must abide by. If it were a scam, there are safer places than the strict anti scam FL they could run a game on. Its NOT a scam initially, just watch for hidden costs, added up it would cost the same as if you booked the deal yourself; there is the hustle. Work your own angle, you may get a better deal, even from them. They make offers so they not another gets your business, that's all. I have no interest in going to Cancun. They couldn't put Hawaii in the offer, so we didn't go.
I received a call from this number saying I was being sued for fraud, they knew my name and everything but the funny thing is that it was in Miami some where I've never been to... So I just hung up. They have called a couple more times after that.
