Called my elderly mother and told her the same thing. That his name was Ryan Coleman and that he was from the Dept of Treasury and that she was in big trouble.
Caller with strong foreign accent leaving hostile message about some type of legal problem pending, and to call back or" be bad legal mess for you!" quote........
Received a call from a "John Davis" at this number stating that I needed to call them back about an enforcement action against me. He left a message that if I called back he suggested I have an attorney to assist me with this matter which could become a legal mess. He sounded foreign as well. I won't be calling him back.
Received a call from an Indian speaking man saying he was from the Department of Legal Affairs for the US Treasury. He was giving me "verbal legal notification" that I need to call them back in regards to an issue.
First, NO WHERE in the American legal system can you give VERBAL LEGAL NOTIFICATION, let alone leave it on someones voice mail. You must be notified in writing.
Second, the man could only say my first name. He didnt even reference my last name because ironically it is difficult to pronounce.
Third, it was obvious he was reading from a script, which lacked true dynamics, if he was to come across stern and authoritative.
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?
