The e-mails are worthless. Your caller is located in India. Or Pakistan. The accent alone should be a flashing red light that this is a scam. All they are throwing at you are a lot of meaningless threats. This is a garden variety Indian or Pakistani debt scamming operation. They are trying to scare you into paying them money.
First off, you cannot be arrested for ordinary civil debt in the US. Being in debt is not a crime. All this talk about court of course is so much nonsense. Secondly phone calls and e-mails are not legal notifications of anything. Obviously they can't take you to court; they have no debt against you and they are located in another country. There's nothing to worry about.
Just block their calls and ignore them.
These calls are sometimes not random. They tend to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. In some cases they do have some financial information or personal information about you.
Do not return any of their calls. They are looking for vulnerable people. Some of the Indian or Pakistani scammers think that they can pick on women because they are perceived as easier targets. If you call them and talk to them, then they might sense some sort of vulnerability, and hammer you with even more calls
If they are calling you at work, see if you can get your employer to install a call blocker system.
I answered the call they said they were financial crimes unit and that i had taken out a loan back in 2011 that i didn t pay on through cash adanv
ce so i questioned further they had all my info. Its a scam don t fall for it.
I received a call from them 3/5/2015 saying they were trying to collect on a loan never had a loan so total scam. When i said i didnt have a loan out they told me to go get a lawyer. looked up the number out of Miami. Also received a e-mail . dont fall for it people.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
This number just wont quit calling no matter how many times I tell them there's a harassment order on them they even called my work and it ticked me off and than I yelled at them and told them to send me to court or arrest me like they say there going to because im fed up with how annoying they are and they hung up. Next day they still sent me emails saying it was my final notice and they are flagging it to court unless I contact them within 48 hours its been two wks now and they still call from time to time but hopefully changing my number helps.
