I got the same message on my voice mail from the same Indian or Pakistani man with the very strong accent. It was hard to understand him, but it was the same scam, they have a (somethin - a hold, maybe?) on my social security number and (something) and if I don't call back to that same number in 30 minutes I'll be arrested.
That was 16 hours ago, and I've had no knock on my door. These are scams, I've had calls with the same message before. If you call them back they'll try to get you to give them your social security number (for verification, of course! - surely not to use it for fraud! (gasp) And most likely they'll try to get you to wire the money you supposedly owe, plus fees and whatnot to jack it up to as much as they can get out of you. Omc you give them that, they're gone, and so is the security of your identity.
Don't give them any info, and don't worry - nobody is coming to arrest you. The system does not work that way.
The high likelihood is that these scammers, like most, are overseas where US laws can't touch them, so just block the number and forget about it.
Got the same kind of call on my cellphone, left a message saying that an arrest warrant was out for me from some company that I supposedly took a loan from. I asked them to give me the company's name and number who sent them my info and the [***] says I'm not in any position to ask any questions. Definitely didn't give them any of my information.
They say they are from the attorney general office and I'm going to be arrested if I don't call back in 30 minutes. I told them when I did call back, they were full of s$!#! Another damn scam.
