Fed Up
Spam call to unlisted cell number.  Caller ID said "Florida"

The number is now blocked, but that's an exercise in futility since these scammers buy up whole blocks of numbers and rotate their robo-calls from different numbers to mix things up, then they move on to a new block of numbers.  These calls get routed to overseas call centers once a connection is made, so these people are untouchable.  The DNC list actually helps THEM by serving as a list of verified numbers, and is essentially powerless since there is no budget for enforcement.

I rarely got such calls before the DNC, but now I get them several times a day.

No it does not! The list is only sold to legitimate business's who must prove who they are. All illegal callers have to do is plumb numbers into computers and dialers. Why pay for a list when doing that is free?  Criminals do not obey laws.

Just a FYI, I've been on it since its inception, I'm down to two calls a month and those go to the call blocking device since they are repeat numbers. This isn't CSI and these things do not get solved in a hour, it takes time to track these criminals down. Not to mention the fact a lot of these extortion scam calls coming from foreighn country's along with other scams. If nothing else, read the very first article under enforcement.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Enough Already!
Your comment about pressing the button gave me a good laugh. It's true though. Our Government and phone companies do have the ability to track these numbers and scammers down but don't. I hope that somebody rich and powerful has someone in their family get scammed. Then they would do something about it. Once the rich and powerful get affected by this, only then will they care.
