Received a call from this number saying they are trying to find my neighbor at an address down the street, which was strange I thought. When I told them I don't really know my neighbors, the woman replied "oh really, okay thanks" and hung up. What the heck???
They identified themselves as a bill collector N.A.R. and told me that I owed $75.74 for a medical bill. They insisted on a payment by phone which I gave them my account information and they processed a check by phone for double the amount I was quoted ($151.48)

Among other methods, they will run a debtor's address and home telephone number through a reverse directory search, and contact anyone they find who may live near the debtor, as well as use other databases to locate a debtor's relatives and contact them as well. Some of their techniques are legally questionable, but they manage to get away with it.
