I received a call from #801-266-1717, Cameron Lott, of Thomas, Thomas, Witcherman and Associates LLC called me with a frightening message for my former husband's daughter. He knew my name and address, and all about me, and was very persistent that he must speak to my former daughter-in-law immediately, or have her call back before nightfall, regarding a situation involving her directly that she is completely unaware of what she is involved in, case file #147789-VA. He gave a call-back #855-600-1017. Again, he stated that he must speak with her tonight, as if her life was in danger. I have not seen her for over ten years and did not have any way to contact her. I researched the phone numbers, and found that TTW is a collection agency posing as lawyers:

I called my local Sherriff's Dept and played the message for them. The Deputy stated that this is just another way that a collection agency can force someone to pay a bill, even if it is not owed by that person. Many in my area have received similar calls. SCAM ALERT!! Do not call them back, they will try to force you to pay an erroneous bill.
I got a call today at 1:25 p.m. from a Joseph Decker. He says his investigator came up with my name, looking for someone. Could I give them the location of that person. Me being a former P.I. I told him why don't you call the Sheriff's department in that said state of that county.? Trust me they can find anyone they want. Now I will come out of Retirement to deal with this issue. Do these guy's know some of us have tape recorders? I don't know all the details yet, but will be working on it.
This company is a joke. These people called my mom first to get my number. So I called to see what it is all about, and they seemed extremely nice and helpful. But as soon as I refused to give them my debit card over the phone, they turned into the worst, most unhelpful, money hungry, non cooperative people I have ever dealt with. They refused to just send me the info about the charge and they couldn't understand why I needed it. Even my bank said that if it was a collection default, a collection agency would contact me. But these people pose as lawyers. Don't fall for this. Stand firm and demand all legal documents. By law, they have to do so.
I am so happy I googled this number before I freaked out. The guy that left me a message at work looking for my sister was Josh Cook. This is dept collecting at a whole new level. He was very convincing by posing as a lawyer claiming his investigators gave them my number. They are looking for my sister about a "matter that she is not aware of and that there is conflicting information that she needs to clarify". Nice try guys!!
These jerks are looking for one of my daughters for some old collection, I assume. I found out yesterday that these guys also called one of her uncles that has the same name, who was so concerned he drove over to our house to make sure we were all right. To top it off, they called a different daughter's in-laws, who live 1700 miles away, with this dire message. They should be in jail.
Got a call on my cell asking for my son, then said it was an "incident". the guy acted like he was out of breath, like he was fearful for me. He eventually said I didn't seem like the type of person that would take out a debt and only make one payment. 5 years ago.....then he said he had mailed me letters. I said "where" and he gave an address in a state I never lived in.
