We got a call from this number and guy wanted our son and said his name was Jake. We have been having drug dealers calling our son at our home number and he would tell us what he wanted other than it was a business matter.

This is the number to a lawyer's office (outbound) in the Salt Lake City area. climberswife, this is not a drug dealer, and if he said that his name is Jake that is one of the people who work in the office. All he can give you is his name and a callback number. If your son contacted them, then they can not tell you anymore than that, even if he is a minor representing himself as an adult. If you have gotten more than one call like this, and you know that your son is involved in illegal activities, chances are, this is the case and there is something that he is not telling you. Also remember that not everyone who is suspicious and can not by law give you any more information than their name is not always a drug dealer.

This is Express recovery ... They are a collections company. So lawyers may be just part of this companies ways of trying to collect a bill owed. This is Jake's direct line which is one of the collection account reps. They are very persistant so best just to call them and get something worked out.
Yea, Debt collectors... Shouldn't be calling on Saturday's EVER or after 7PM. Guess they didn't know that either? BTW, I owe a small bill of $70 and have told them repeatedly that I would be paying them when my student loans come in. Gave them the date they would be coming. Wow, I understand Going after people who have thousands in CC debt, but a fleeing mother from an abusive situation? and for $70? I am a single mother whose child's father is MIA. I work part time, go to college full time and they will get their $70 when I get that student loan. Until then, I am not on welfare... I bust my [***] for what I earn. And they call me on weekends and during dinner for a $70 light bill. That they will get when I have it. Ridiculous.
