Just rec'd call from someone called Brandon who said he was from "Windows Service Center" saying my computer had a problem which could cause it to crash without warning. I am suspicious about the validity of this call. He asked me to depress the windows flag on the lower left corner of the keyboard, and simultanously hold down the letter R. I terminated the call.
Is this a legitimate call??? Would Microsoft make a call like this???
Scammers wanted me to change my operating system settings, claimed to be from "Windows Operating System support technical services. Claimed that If I called back this number 1-801-512-0605 it would PROVE it was a legitimate call. He asked me if I had proof he claimed he was from Microsoft, and I repeatedly asked him if he was from Microsoft, he answered that Microsoft made my computer, (False) (He had a Pakistan accent) This is the fourth time I have received this call, and the fourth time they have hung up when I challenged them.
Same thing here. When I asked him which computer he answered "he Windows one." I said that narrowed it down to three, which one, he said "all of them." I think asked what errors and codes he's been "receiving" and he just got evasive. I started laughing at him and yerminated the call.
