I am receiving phone calls from this number. When I answer, the person hangs up. I researched the number and it is an unpublished Verizon number. When you call the number back, a recorded message states: "At the subscribers request, incoming calls are not accepted."
OK - here's what everyone should do - Obviously if you're paying for the call, then this is not the solution. On the other hand, if it's free for you, then answer the phone. Wait for them to ask you anything and respond by saying that you need to look for the person responsible/owner of this phone/etc.
Let them wait... a long time... as long as you can hold them on the line. Keep coming back to the phone and let them know you're still looking for the individual. Don't let up until a) You had enough of laughing or b) they hang up. I've held them on the line for more than 20 minutes.
Not only is this gratifying, but if they pay for the phone, they'd be wasting a lot of money and won't be able to call others in the mean time.
I just got a call on my phone from this number. Didn't answer, but this is the second call from an 801 number that I don't know. Just reporting it here for the record.
got call from this number. I'm an 801 myself thot it might be friend with new number. I have been getting lots of those calls where I get hung up on when I answer so I always check online now. This is getting so disgusting I dont even want to answer the phone anymore. Even my cell phone gets harrassed by these kind of calls. I've left it turned off for weeks now. I called back this number and got a message "please dial 1 before the number." This is not an out of state number for me.
Repeated calls from this number, and nobody on the line if you answer, no message if you don't answer. I also heard the "At the subscribers request, incoming calls are not accepted" message when I called the number. TALK ABOUT NERVE!
