A woman called my office asking to talk to someone in "accounts." I asked her if she needed accounts payable or accounts receivable. She said either would be fine. I told her the person who handles that was out for the afternoon and asked if I could leave a message. She said she would call back tomorrow.
scammers/ criminals whoever they are. They didn't leave a message and hung up after only 4 rings. Only a criminal / scammer won't leave a message. They don't want Law Enforcement to be able to find them at all.
A legitimate business would leave a # in hopes of getting a return call.

A lady said she was with Google Plus and wanted to speak with the business owner. When I told her that she had the wrong number, she became almost rude and arrogant with me as if I was lying to her and wouldn't hang up. I wondered what her problem was but I hung up on her. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it's Google because they hire subcontractors to work out their homes doing telemarketing. They used to call my employer several times a day. I don't know if I should be angry at these people or be concerned that their minds and character have been so degraded and demoralized that they feel no shame in their line of work.
