Really now .... The DNCR is a tool of Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) enforcement. Anyone blasting out sales calls is required to purchase access and use it to avoid calling registered numbers. Making call recipients beg to stop cold sales calls is NOT part of TSR compliance.

Ugh .... The magic phrase is NOT ''take me off'' or "remove my name", but ''Add this number to your Do Not Call list''. The latter is the only one which triggers the TSR requirement.

The five-figure TSR fines are imposed by regulators, not citizens, who would have to bring TCPA actions, which have a much different civil penalty structure.

I don't believe in honest mistakes from dishonest companies and I don't accept weak excuses for failure to comply with a simple demand to quit calling. Call center reps don't take priority over my time and family just because they took a job which by its nature is disruptive to thousands of strangers.
