You folks are wasting your time complaining on a forum about people calling you like this. 99% of the people calling you with schemes like this are SPOOFING the number you see on your caller id. It is easy to do and is done most often from a VOIP account (but can be done with land lines and cell phones too). The problem is that the telco's have no authentication for calls that originate outside of their network- once the call leaves the call originator's provider network the caller is using there is no way to authenticate that the caller information is correct. VOIP regulation has improved over the old days when they first came online, but spoofing caller origination information is a common problem that they really don't care about.

I have to disagree with you. I believe sites like 800notes allow others to inform people about unwanted calls. I have learned a lot since I first came here.
