I received a phone call recording stating my Amazon account was being charge $399 for a phone to hold and I would be transferred to an agent. The agent immediately came on the line and identified himself as Sam. He told me to go to a computer and download a site. I said I would use my phone and just go to my Amazon account. He said in a strong voice NO, YOU NEED YOUR COMPUTER. He wanted me to use the Google browser. It took the download but wouldn't go any further. At this point I became suspicious and asked my daughter to google Amazon1.me. At the same time I was viewing my account and did not see such charges. Google came back as fraud reported call. The site and everything looked like Amazon. I immediately deleted the download. I told him I had to repair my computer and call him back, he came me the 1-801-803-5253 number and said that I should ask for him, Sam.
I don't know what good it does to be on the Do Not Call List if it doesn't stop the annoying calls from telemarketers. Again I don't know who this is. They never leave a message.
I told the caller I wanted to cancel my service with them. She said I would have to download a cancellation form. I had to let them into my computer to get the form. Eventually I was transferred to someone else who said they could not credit my credit card as I had been told. They needed my bank account information. I refused to give it. He said he would issue a report to the BBB stating that I was not comfortable giving them my bank information. Now I am sure it was a fraud. They would not report themselves to the BBB.
