Received 2 calls from this guy. He wanted to remove a virus from my computer and asked me to give him VPN access to my computer. He told me that my Windows has a virus and I can lose all my data. Unfortunately for him, im running Linux on my computer:) So, be aware it’s a scam.

I received a call from this number and a guy with an Indian accent tried to tell me he was from Microsoft and my Windows computer was infected with a virus from "the hackers".  I asked him how that was possible since I had my flu shot just 2 months ago and I was inoculated against all of the current viruses, he didn't get it and kept rambling on that "the hackers" were stealing my data, I then asked how MS knew what number to call since my phone is unlisted, I never provided MS with my number nor is it associated in any way with my computer, he rambled on some more and finally I told him I was running Linux not Windows, he got mad and started cussing, I hung up.  The same guy, had called several months ago and got belligerent and started cussing at me when I confronted him as a scammer then as well, I wonder if anyone falls for his scam.  Next time I'll try something like the guy in the YouTube video did, search for "Man Receives Call From Scammer and Proceeds to Waste his Time".

This Indian guy called me for the second time today. I answered to be nice, after all it was local. He told me he was from Microsoft, I didn't believe him even when I pointed out he couldn't be, they aren't in Utah at all. He fed me some more garbage. So whatever I obliged to his story about the hackers, so I listed and kept asking how he knew what computer it was, so he asked me to open the command prompt. Sure that's safe, then he asked me to type "assoc", so I googled that. Microsoft page that states it lists the registered file extensions. Sure that's safe. So I typed it, he assured me with this he could verify my computer. So I described what the list was, he was shocked and something about I figured it out and the line went dead.
