I am in total agreement with you. I feel as if I am paying my cell phone bill for telemarketers and other companies, after adding my number to the "Do Not Call List". I plan on sending them a monthly phone bill for their calls coming in without my permission. I'll let you know the results.
no idea who this is, but they keep calling my cell. I have a cell that screens numbers from unknown sources by NOT ringing or sounding for them, and they get my msg service instead...
From my experience, answering these calls and requesting them to remove us from the list does not work. I am registered on the "Do not call" website but that hasn't deterred telemarketers. They call me at all times of the day and night!
A wise poster in some forum suggested saving unwanted caller numbers to the "phone book" on your cell phone. Then, set the ring tone to "silent." Viola! You will not hear the incessant unwanted calls. I save these numbers as "Junk!" in my phone book. IT WORKS GREAT!
Btw, I agree that this is not a perfect solution to permanently eliminate telemarketing harassment. We need stricter enforcement of government laws and regulations to resolve these matters.
