Same thing happened to me. Wanted to send me a check for some furniture I was selling and have someone else pick up the items a day later. Classic fraud.
A classifieds ad scammer. For me, a local scammer that refused to meet in person and asked redundant questions about the wedding dress I had up for sale. They wanted the dress without trying it on and insisted that a check be overnighted to my address and that a third party will come to pick up the dress. Classifieds Fraud!
