The way numerous collection co's and departments work is that once dq, your info is put into a queue and the computer calls you at predetermined intervals by the computer system. Once you pick up your phone the call is routed to a live person by the computer. This way they aren't paying people to just sit there and dial numbers all day. The best way to avoid it is to not answer private calls or unknown numbers on caller id. Discover is one of the only creditors I know that actually uses an area code of an actual state. Most will have an 866 number and at times an 800 number. I never pick up 866 or 800 numbers... I just see if they leave me a message.
I received 4 call from them between the hours of 8:30am and 12:30pm. I didn't answer and they didn't leave any messages. It was annoying that he or she kept calling with no messages!
thats what I thought it prob was- I live in michigan, and was unable to pay on my due date last week on account my area was hit by a huge storm and out of power for close to a week. however, beginning calls at 8 in the morning seems a bit heavy handed for a credit card company, esp when it has been only a week since a payment was missed. dont worry discover card, youll get your money.......
