My daughter just got a new phone 2 weeks ago.(her first one) This number has called 6 times this week. I don't know why they need to talk to her... She's only 8 years old!!

Your daughter's phone number used to belong to someone else. The caller is trying to call the person who used to have the number.
Its probably possible to block calls from this phone number. Ask her phone company how. Or put the pest's phone number in her contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring". That will send the calls to voicemail without disturbing her.
