Charities, along with some Survey's and Political calls, are exempt from the DNC, however, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards. Some states have different laws in regards to the calls, which can differ from the federal.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or less. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Report your callers here if they continue to call and harass:
The caller asked for me by my name, and when I confirmed "That's me," she said "You're one tough cookie to get a hold of" (which I'm not), then she said, "Hang on a sec," and immediately hung up on me. I suspect these folks are conducting an illicit operation to verify the accuracy of a big list of names and phone numbers, perhaps so they can sell the newly verified list of names and numbers to other telemarketers.
This number is from Vivint Alarm Co. previously APX. They are fraudulent and duped me into receiving a "free" alarm system back around 2007. Stay away from them. They lie and you will never be able to get a hold of them to cancel your services once you find out, that you signed a contract that you weren't even aware was a contract. They told me my that because of where I lived at the time, my neighborhood qualified for an appropriated amount of funds to receive a FREE alarm system. However, it was only FREE in exchange that I allow them to put up their signs in my yard for advertisement purposes. That was a lie, I unknowingly signed a 5 year contract. Now this charge is on my credit report. Sales person by the name of Dustin was very good or should I say cunning (formerly a door to door Mormon rep.). In April 2011, Vivint was involved in a civil settlement with District Attorney Mark Peterson in Contra Costa County and ordered to pay $425,000.
Received a call on Thursday, 3/26 @ 8:12 p.m., rang three times. The next call was Friday, 3/27 @ 8 p.m. Again it rang three times. The info on the caller I D said it was from S. L. C. No message left. This number is one of seven different numbers that keeps calling. I figure, if a name is not on our caller ID, or we don't recognize the name, we don't answer the phone. Besides if it was important a message should be left.
