Says it's AMEX when you call back & immediately wants your acct # - BS! I called the # on the back of my real AMEX card, as I am NOT overdue & pay on time all the time.
I think this is a scam...am on hold with the real AMEX now....will find out more tomorrow am
Thanks so much for all of this information. I am in the same situation but all of these phone numbers are making me nervous. I am only going to deal with this with the number on teh back of my card or on line and just not answer ANY unknown number.
It's AMEX. My business card account is late because, of slow paying clients & slow business in this economy. I'm taking care of it as soon as I get paid but, it's not a scam. Before they left a message in a British accent saying it was a 'personal matter'. I love AMEX as a company because they always take care of me, which is more than I can say for most credit cards and business', so no complaints there.
