I put a living room set on Craigslist last night and they contacted me stating they want to buy my set. I asked where they were located because the area code was so unfamiliar and his/her response was "(1/3) will only able to make payments by certified check or Money Order. I will make arrangement for the pick-up after payment has been received and cleared in"
Figured it was a scam.....Thanks for posting, I just wanted to google this number to see if anything was on here and unfortunately it was!!!!
I've been harrasing the snot outta these people lets all just start sending mass texts and sign the number up for all kinds of mass comercial texts that will teach the moron.
Got a txt msg on 12/5/12 and same type msg stating that they want my Craigslist item. Thanks everyone for posting your experiences to keep the rest of us from falling for this scam.
It is a total SCAM, the text just says " I want to purchase (whatever your posting title on CL is). Don't text back, it will confirm your number for them.
I received a text this morning 9:44 am 12/16/12 from (802) 265-1059--- it looked suspicious, thanks for the info here i will put it to good use.

Got the same thing on 12/92012, got suspicious a few days later and asked for name, address to continue. They advised payment was sent, got the package today, makes me nervous bcz it was delivered today, Sunday. They did give me a shipper address, in NY. Think I'm gonna talk to my cop friends. I'm not opening the package, the return address matches to a cemetery.
