Send me names and address so check can be sent
I'd like to come around and come pay cash but i'm away on this new job and it will take me few weeks to be done so i can only do a check right now
I received the following text tonight in response to my craigslist ad - Please confirm if your ad on craigslist is available for sale. I said yes and he responded with the same response as most of you: "Sure i'm gonna be buying & i'm paying you a check...also gonna wait till check clears before item is picked up. Send me names and address so i can mail payment.
Texted incorrect incorrect information
Response: ok, I'll be sending you extra money for movers fee. Take my money and give the rest to movers.
My response: uncomfortable with arrangements, don't send check, item stays on craigslist.
Response: I'm away on new job for a couple weeks that why I need movers and will wait for the check to clear.
My response: if the item is still available when you get back, contact me...
"Please confirm if you ad on Cragslist is still available for sale. Queen Craftmatic & Wooden Frame Futon $200 (Aurora)". After I confirmed I received: "Ok nice.. i'm buying it and will be paying you a check. am also going to wait till check clears before item is picked up. Do send me names & address and payment will be done. Rob"
I didn't get scammed. I decided to google before I even received a check - and before he had a chance to send it.
In addition to above, when I told him that I found his info googling and that the items remain published on the internet, he responded: "Got it... Also there will be an additional amount because the movers fee will be included and after deducting your fee, the difference goes to my movers so pickup can be done". I tried to see if I can report this as a scam but both FTC and FBI don't seem to have cases to file unless you were actually scammed.
