I ran across an ad (on craigslist) titled " Home Cleaning/Little Errands " with a contact number of 802-441-5493 - IT IS A SCAM!!
The man said his name was Brad Williams although he could go by others, I was told that I would be working 4 hrs a day 3 days a week for $420. The man stated that he and his wife just bought the house... later on in our conversation stated that his estate agent would mail me keys to the apartment (I found this a red flag as he said it was a house before). The man asked me for some personal information such as address and such without first even asking whom he was talking with. I asked 3 times in the length of our conversation where the new home/apartment was located and only received a response of "in your area" but I have never told him where I was from of what part of town so he couldn't have possibly known if it was in my area. Please be aware.
(The number is registered with Bandwidth.com so it is likely a VoIP line.)
The exact same thing happened to me. I gave the address since it's a mailing address only, not my legal or current address. Then I asked for the real estate agent's information, which was glossed right over. I told them I was unwilling to agree to anything until an explanation was offered as to why they are willing to send a check to somebody they've never met, who has currently not done any work.
Never heard from them again.
I was also given the name Brad Williams. Except now he and his wife are moving to Ocala, Florida. Goodness knows where "they" will be next!
