Got a text from this # asking if we do massage & saying they are "hearing impaired" and will want to book an "event for several people".  Like calling a restaurant to ask if they serve food, DUH!  Got these types of calls in the past and they are scammers usually from foreign countries although they may have some slimebag Americans doing their dirty work stateside. They say they're hearing impaired so you have to communicate thru hearing impaired network so calls can't be traced to them. It's a new version of eBay & Craigslist fraud schemes now targeting massage and other service businesses. Do not engage with them. If this has happened to you, visit the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) website, www.ftc.gov/ftc/consumer.htm, and click “File a Complaint” to fill out the form. You can also forward the offending e-mails to [email protected].  In addition you can file a complaint at the Internet Crime Complaint Center’s website, http://www.ic3.gov/. There is also a good article on www.abmp.com that lists a few of the emails and also this bit of information on who to contact to report them. Reporting is crucial to help stop them.
