A young lady called me on Sunday afternoon today (from 1-802-861-3487) and said she was with the VA and was taking a survey. Told her i had never received a call like this from the VA. Asked her what country she was calling from and she said the U.S. Asked her what state - and she said Virginia. Refused to provide answers for the survey. She attempted to reschedule the call for a more convenient time. Refused to participate - a VA call on the weekend is highly suspect.
They conducted a survey for disaster preparedness for FEMA. I took the survey, it was pretty long, but the caller was friendly. The questions were actually about disaster preparedness, so I doubt it was a scam.
This number has called me three times within the past month. I answered it once and the person said it was a FEMA survey, but it seemed pretty sketchy so I hung up. I just looked up the number on the White Pages site, which said that it's a cell phone with a Vermont area code.
