Started messaging a girl yesterday on meetme who said she was babysitting and would text me later. Later on we start texting and we swap pics. Says she wanted to send a video, of which I never received. And never heard from "her" again that night.
The next day her father calls me saying that it was going to cost him $800 to disconnect her phone and cancel her plan and $1200 to fix the lap top that was broke. He said he was willing to meet half way if I could pay him $1000 in increments. This mans name was "James Davis"

Underaged girl scam numbers. Appears to be centered on the Eastern Seaboard somewhere. I think it is the same party or parties doing this. I suspect that they actually work in the telemarketing industry in some capacity or another.
The extortionists work from dating sites.
MO goes like this: Someone contacts you saying they are the “father” of and under aged girl you contacted. They say they will go to police unless you pay them money by untraceable means.
In some cases they spoof real police detectives and real police departments. Say there is an investigation ongoing and by the way, they’ll l stop the investigation if you pay them or the complainant party a certain amount of money. Again by untraceable means.
Anyone contacted by these extortionists should immediately block the number and make a police report of attempted extortion. This crime is a felony in most jurisdictions. As is outright extortion.

Just recieved the same call same situation as troy from above. Telling me i need to send him $800 bc he has to change his daughters phone number. Saying shes only 16 when her profile on the dating site said she was 20.
