girl contacted me on MeetMe tuesday night, she didnt have any pic and the profile said she was 20, she messaged me on meetme and texted me from this number, we started off just telling about ourselves (she DID say she was 16,but i thought with SC's age of consent being 16, i was in the clear, i understand that ignorance is no excuse but i am just explaining.) she initiated the sending of the pics, she sent one pic (clothed) where she looked mid-late 20's, then she said she was "hot for me" i asked for a pic, she sent a dirty one, then i sent one back (dick pic) I started having second thoughts and asked if she was a cop, she said no, then she started asking about my money situation, i had to go to work after that, when i got off i told her i didnt think we should talk because its illegal, and i was scared i'm getting taken advantage of (i never talked to her, she tried to call several times yesterday, but they went sraight to voicemail, so at this point i dont even know if shes real.) she said i was not and to please stay (note, we were never in a relationship, we had only started talking.) yesterday i started having the same thoughts and she told me what would my dad do if he caught you, i told her that i think id be in prison, then she told me she was going to overdose on pills, because no one loved her, and then she asked for a first class plane ticket to see me, i told her i lost my wallet and she said i play too many games and goodbye.Now this morning her father called me and told me she had tried to commit suicide with pills and was going to turn me over to the law for child pornography, if i didnt wire him money through Western Union to pay for her therapy. the girls mother wanted to go to the cops, but the father said he was coming to me man to man. My mother got involved and now were waiting to see the hospital bill and if that checks out, I'm gonna see what i can do moneywise. free online attorneys said this is a scam and yahoo answers said she would'nt try to OD but apparently she did... Is this a scam? i am fully sorry for all the spelling errors and whatnot, i am literally shaking over here because i am SO DAMN SCARED, im 22 and stupid.

This scammer has been using the number 803-413-4219. He posts fake profiles on Plenty of Fish and other dating sites, with pics of cute young women. The "girl" will claim to be over 18, but after an exchange of texts will claim to be 16 or younger, and "she" will ask for naked pics or pics of your genitals. Then comes texts and phone calls from the scammer claiming this time to be the girl's father, saying that his "daughter" slit her wrists, or broke her laptop, or both, as he will try to extort money from you. He will also claim to be a cop or deputy, threatening to arrest you for "sexting" with a minor - but he is open to bribes.
This scammer has been described as having an African American-sounding voice (though the pics on the fake profiles are of white girls), and tends to call his victims "son." He hasn't been caught yet and is still perpetrating this scam.
Report them to YOUR law enforcement. EXTORTION IS A CRIME!! Do not talk to him. There are several HUNDRED comments like yours using different numbers (especially the 803 area code of which skamkilla gave you a link for 77 more pages).
He has changed the number to 864-871-7005 now, he isn't contacting me anymore, he is now contacting my mother (she was also on the phone with him, earlier.) and saying he is going to give us updates everyday on the girls condition. She was expected to get out today, now he's saying the Dr. wants to keep her several days. The description provided correct, he is an African American male, who stutters/stammers and has very poor spelling in his one text to me, as did the "daughter", My mother asked to speak to the mother, but he ignored it. He seems WAY more concerned about the money over his daughter
