If you feel the DNC list doesn't work (which it does), why do you keep adding your number to it? Which you don't have to do, by the way. Once you add your number to the list, it's there until you remove it.

Yet another poster who signed up for a govt freebie, but was unable to understand what it really does, or why it was instituted. The Do Not Call Registry works well. It is your understanding of it that is faulty.

The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call. The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients! Click "Tip" for a tip.

Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list .
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers. After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret! (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).
Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls , such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.
Fact: Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker .

I am elderly and still trying to learn how things work. I didn't mean to cause any upset. I was only trying to be helpful to others by reporting the scam call I received today. I receive several a day. This time I googled the number that called me and this site showed up. This the first time I have visited this site and the first time I ever reported a number. If I did something in error I am sorry.
Tygerkat. I added my number to the DNC more than once because I thought I might have not done it correctly so I added it again. Thank You for the info. I know now I do not have to add it again.
