This is a very dangerous scam. be on HIGH ALERT. Set you up to think that your computer is at risk, and try to get you to download a program that will take over your computer, providing access to user names, passwords, and banking information. STAT CLEAR!!!!!!!
i called the number back and put the access code in and they wanted me to download some app. If i only put the access code in is my computer and my information at risk?
My son got this pop up on his Mac-they wanted to get credit card info.
They gave him the number. When I called the next day I got someone who was claiming he was from a company called Dolata in Virginia
Sorry-this number was called by me-they told me they were a company called Delota out of Virginia-they do have a website-and when I called that number- 804-234-3518-they wanted to get me to customer complaints-hung up. Both numbers seemed to be staffed by men with Indian accents. I was given a number to call back for 866-281-2220. These knuckleheads tried to hit up my son at school-good thing he has no bank or credit card info as they wanted him to pay $200 to remove malware.
Will let BBB know of this. Not sure if Delota is a legit company or not but I assume no.
