Same thing, I'm in New Mexico and got a response to my pet sitting ad via text. The awkward wording, outlandish price and overall tone tipped me off immediately that this was bogus. My text also identified the person as Shannon, with a golden retrieverule, moving from Hawaii, same hours and price others have said, and the same Gmail address asking for my resume and references. I have no intention of responding to this scammer.
This person replied to my pet sitting ad saying they wanted me to pet sit their dog Cookie when they moved to my area from Hawaii. And they were going to ship their dog to me early and needed all my banking information including access to my online account in order to pay me and refused to send payment through alternate ways like PayPal and western union.
They called themselves Suzanne Bailey and said they had a 5 year old son and we're currently going through a divorce.
I live in Belleville, Ontario. I received a text from this scammer on September 2nd as well...in response to a Pet Care advert I placed on Kijjiji. Many things were odd about the messages including 2 fake photos sent to me that had been sourced from istock photos. They also used the script of being Suzanne Bailey and having a dog named Cookie and a story about relocating after a divorce etc. etc. Plus they posed as a deaf person who could only text to communicate with me. Sure enough they got around to asking if I would purchase items for this "dog" in preparation for their move to my city. I knew they were about to ask for my bank information so I stopped playing along and ended the exchanges. Pet Sitters Beware!!
