I too got several calls from this number. When I called back it said 'this number is disconnected and is no longer in service. After reading what you folks have said about this number, I hope they are disconnected. Sounds like a scam."
Same thing. Call on Sprint cell said it was from Michigan. When answered there was a brief moment of silence (dead give away that it was computer generated) then a male computer voice very briefly stated, "I am sorry" and hung up. Most polite spam call ever but have to wonder if it was fishing my number to see if it was active. So what can they do with unused numbers? Something illegal? Is this a method used to gather information to clone phone ID's for nefarious purposes? You never know. This isn't just done for fun so what is it's real purpose?
I just received a call on my ATT cell phone. I answered like I would answer the phone at work because I didn't recognize the number. When I called back it said the number was no longer in service. This is an issue! If I would have said hello, what would they have said? BEWARE!!! I DO BELIEVE THIS IS A SCAM!
