Some guy with an India-sounding accent called to tell me that they had been monitoring a problem with my computer for a couple of weeks and that it was infected with a virus. He asked me when the last time I was on the computer (I was actually on when he called) --- I stopped him right there.... told him he was full of CRAP and hung up.
Male with a very strong Middle Eastern accent telling me my Windows computer is highly contaminated, he said my registration with my name popped up with my ph# and wanted me to go to my computer for him to clean my computer from the viruses. I told him I sold my windows computer and now have an Apple computer. He would not give up. I told him that I knew he was a scammer but he continued to be persistant that I owned the Windows computer. I blocked his ph# but this is the 5th time I have gotten this call and from the same voice within the last 5 weeks.
Received a call. Told them we were on the "do not call registry" and asked that they also take us off their list. Said they were asked to call us because our computer had a problem. I repeated the "do not call registry" and "take us off your list" and he insisted that he wasn't subject to this because he had to call us since our computer had a problem. Again, I asked what the computer problem was and he gave a gobbledy-gook answer that he was calling because of Microsoft Window problems that had been registered on our computer. I hung up but am frustrated that this can continue.
This "Microsoft" scam is run from Pakistan.
Microsoft does not call people. It does updates online when you boot up, automatically.
The number is spoofed and does not exist. (call it back, and see if they even answer.)
They are not computer people at all... They are not a real business...
They are SCAMMERS.
They want your "BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION"...
If you give it to them... Just say bye, bye to your money...
