They've been calling for weeks. I blocked the number after the first call, but my phone still rings once before hanging up. You would think these people would get the hint, but noooooooo.
After countless suspicious telephone calls from 800 numbers, we have decided that almost all telephone numbers beginning with the digit 8 are from scammers.
We always leave our answering machine on and if we do not recognize a number (we do not have caller ID but our answering machine does speak the caller's number), we do not pick up.
We got a call from the number in question and did not pick up. After the words "Please leave a....," I heard a click and that was the end of the call.
These are all probably robocalls. They are most frequent between 6 and 8 in the evening.
