I was contacted by someone from this Michigan number, claiming to be from omnitech - a pc support company. The call appeared as a 'number unknown'. I searched and called Omnitech support, who were listed out of California (rather than Michigan). Omnitech told me that no one from their company called my number! I called the 810 number (which the caller provided me for some reason) and was told that I had reached Omnitech. They explained that they had called since they had detected a problem with my computer. They asked that I allow them access so that they could 'repair' it. When I asked to be sent an email with a copy of my account number, etc, the phone cut off.
Clearly a group from Michigan are impersonating what seems to be a legitimate company.
I also got a call. On my caller id it said caller unknown and displayed the number as 1. I already knew this was a scam but answered anyway and asked the person on the line his name and number so I might call back later.( normally scammers hang up at this question this one did not) He gave the name of Steven Smith and the phone 810 689 9593. Then I googled the number and verified it was a scam. I always answer suspected scanner calls on my speaker and most of them quickly hang up
