I got these same annoying calls but anybody with 2 cents can realize that the reason companies give their 800 or 888 or 866 # is so that the person can call back TOLL FREE. They know we have the other # on caller ID. I can admit I didnt pay my loan and my checks bounced. Im not gonna act like I am clueless... YES these calls are annoying and they are wasting their time CAUSE THEY WONT EVER GET ME TO PAY THIS... But it kills me that people act like they are victims when they KNOW what they did.. WHOA IS ME
Collection scam. Call comes from Maria Cox of Cox and Associates. These people sound very convincing and threatening! They said they were representing Cash Now.com and that I had a loan from 3 years ago that I didn't pay. They make it sound like they are lawyers but they are not. I did some checking and Cash Now doesn't even do loans in Colorado and I am nowhere in their system. They also said my original loan was for $800 when you can't even do a payday loan in Colorado for more than $500. Also the call back number comes back registered to a Craig's list ad looking for people to do collections work. If you get a call from them just look up the laws in your state that govern payday companies. They haven't done there homework and chances are they are giving you information that doesn't apply to you and it's kind of fun to mess with them. When I called back and gave her the information she got very angry and hung up on me... Figures!
Hi, I also got a call today from this same number very interesting and the lady sounded very convincing. The scary thing is that the lady knew my name and some of my family members name though. I hope these people get caught.
Got a call from this # as crawford and assoc. do not give them any info . they are not fowlling fair debt collection act at all. i will report them to atty generals office
I also got a call from this number. The person, who name is Chris, left a different number. She told me she was calling from Crawford and Associates and it was a legal matter and she told me to call 1-888-466-5580 as soon as possible. Why that number and not the 813-344-0907 number? I got this message on my cell and work phone. I'm so sick of this harassment. I get a call at least three or four times a month about a payday that I never gotten! Those things are nothing but rip-offs. Don't know who came up with them but they need to stop them!!!
