A guy with no professional phone skills, asked for the "guy that runs the plant". I asked if he meant "......" and gave the plant managers name. He said yes so I transfered the call. He told the plant manager he was calling from Precision or Premier pkg. and lighting co. and wanted to sell us 4year gauranteed 4' or 8' flourescent light bulbs and her could ship a half box now as a sample at a really great price. Our plant manager agreed to an order thinking I was aware of this guy and his company and that it was our regular lightbulb salesman we normally order from. The guy wanted COD but the plant manager said we pay in 30 days with check. They guy didnt even ask for a PO# or leave an order # or phone#. Plant manager didnt think to ask this guy what it would cost, or get a name and phone#. I told the plant manager afterwards that is NOT the name of the company we order bulbs from and that it all sounded fishy and I think he got scammed. We looked it up and there were simular scams on the internet all coming from a area code 813# in Florida. I hope we dont get these bulbs and a HUGE invoice. Hopefully we can refuse them if they come ups or fed-ex.
Got the same call from a Precision Lighting wanting to introduce his business by sending me a Coleman cooler with a bottle of Jack in it all I needed to do was give him my home address. I said no thanks and he hung up, sounded like he had a New England accent but call was from Florida.
I have received this same call, Precision Lighting - some idiot asking for the maintenance supervisor in the shop (this is an office setting, we have no shop). I tell him this and then he hangs up on me, but he keeps calling back?? The PH# is 813-882-4549. I Googled that number, and found this thread. Then I Googled the company name he is using, and called them. I spoke to a manger who confirmed that this guy is in fact a scammer, and has been doing this somewhere between 6-8 years under their company name. The scammer is located in Tampa, FL the actual Precision Lighting is in Birmingham, AL. The manager said the police and Better Business Bureau have been notified and have an open file on him.
I hope he calls me back again, I am going to toy with him.
This guy left a message saying his name is David Novak and he is with Precision and needed to talk to me. Something like he has some news for me and not to worry it's all good. That's all I got.
now i got same call for cooler and bottle of jack what i want to know is after 6 to 8 yrs of this guy pulling this scam and there is an open file on this guy why is he still getting away with this . that should tell us somthing about our judicial system or there lack of . its very sad that our so called investigators who look into this type of scam cannot stop these people where do our tax dollars go definitly not into putting these people in jail. it really is sad that these people have more right than law abiding tax paying public
