They email me that there is a lawsuits for me and asking me to pay them. Also that my credit will be affected. They use the Cooper Law Firm and the name of the attorney is Michael Scott.
They Are trying to scare me. So I look their numbers and I found out it was a fraud. And I know that I don't owe any money to them.
I received an email and a call from the Cooper Law Firm and the gentleman has a thick accent. He states that I owe a payday loan, which I am unaware of and that I will be prosecuted and have to go to jail and ends with best of luck to you. this a fraud.
Same thing, received a call from this Indian (not native american) man, stating that I was going to be charged with Violation of Federal Banking Regulation, Collateral Check Fraud, Theft by Deception, and Intentional Misappropriation of funds. Scared me to death, worried sick..... so I research. Sounds like a scam to me. I call him back and ask for him to send me documentation, he says he only works for the company and cant send anything. Then I tell him that I googled the law firm and its not available anywhere on line. He proceeds to give me a website cooperlawpc.com, I look it up with him on the phone and (surprise, surprise) it says "Welcome to Cooper Law" then in smaller print it says "Under construction". He babbled a little and said that it would be up and running in the next week to 10 days. I told him he was a scam artist, and that I would be informing the attorney general. He welcomed me to do so, and said he would continue to file the charges as planned. I am sooooo glad I looked into this, and I asked the attorney general to let me know what the outcome is, perhaps there is a way to press charges for "pretending to be a company, lawyer, or something they are not." Not to mention the fact that they are scaring people like you and I into giving them money for free. I hope this creep gets whats coming.
