I have the same problem. I have been screening calls from Texas since January. Right around when I started getting student loans. Friday the 30th I got a text message saying the exact same thing. I checked my student FA, Fafsa, and loan site. Nothing had changed and there were no notifications. I called the number provided, (817) 880-6930, to get my number removed, and to report unethical business practices. He was rude and hung up. I called 5 more times, and was repeatedly hung up on. This last time I called I asked to speak to a supervisor but they were conveniently unavailable. I have nothing to go on except they say their business is Student Loan Assistant. I can't seem to located them on the BBB site. Anyone know anything about them? They are driving me nuts, and I wish they would go away.
No phone call yet, but I did get a text with this # on it, saying to call it, writing that my student loan reduction is pending. That's funny, as I haven't applied to reduce any student loan--maybe they could offer me a reduction on a loan for an igloo? This stuff gets really old and is a tremendous waste of people's time.
Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers (including AT&T) will allow you to report unwanted spam texts by simply forwarding them to 7726 (or “spam”) to enable the providers to prevent future unwanted texts from the specific sender.
TIP:
Put 7726 in your contact list, so you can easily forward those unwanted texts!

However, in many cases, the text origin, as seen on your phone, is faked. The internet domain does not exist, or the phone number may have been spoofed.
