I got a call from this number today. I also was told it was from an airline based out of Woodlanf Hills, CA (but a brand new airline) and I had won 2 tickets to anywhere I wanted. (As their promotion)
I didnt want to deal with it, because I am on prepaid airtime (every minute counts!). I kept telling the guy that it would be a waste because I have an extreme fear of flying. He kept insisting on reading his script, and I kept insisting theres no way in he** I'll get on a plane..until he rudely hung up on me. Not even a minute later, I got a call from (760) 705-8888 *which is from what I understand, someone calling from "google talk". I think both calls were linked.
This BICTH called me with a funky accent saying she was with United Airlines in Woodland Hills. I cursed her out and she hung up. Unfortunately, she called my cell phone so I can't call block her.
If yours is an Android smartphone or an iPhone you can block numbers. iPhones have call-blocking built in; Android phones have free or paid apps in the app store.
If it's a dumbphone, you can still sort of block numbers by setting up a contact called SCAM or similar, and assigning a silent or NO ringtone to that contact. The call will still come in but you won't be bothered by the ringing. Some phones also have a setting to SEND DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL, so check that out as well.
Just got a call from this number, picked up, hearing a lot of background noise (like a room full of people), but the call got disconnected just when a woman said "I'm calling from..." Called back right away (I live in 818 area and figured it may be something important, since telemarketers usually call from 800 numbers), Verizon Wireless message said that the number is disconnected or no longer in service. Glad I googled the number, now I know it's a scam in case they call again. Thanks to everyone who took time to write.
