Just as the post above me,I said hello about 3 times and he said he had the wrong number and hung up.Why he does this I am not sure but by the other comments,it's a scam. There are so many of this crap going on these days.
I got a call from this #. He (He said his name was Roger) left a message and said my name had been drawn for a major gift. He had been trying to reach me numerous times. Only problem with this is that he said I had filled out a form to win a car, No I didn't. He also didn't refer to me or my husband by name. He said it was not a telemarketer call but I am sure it is some kind of scam.
"Roger" sounded exasperated about his "numerous attempts to reach" me as I have been "selected to receive a major gift." He
says I filled out an "entry form with hopes of winning a new car." Sorry, Roger, I never fill out such fake contest entries because I know that's just scamming for potential customers. Roger had a lot of anxiety in his voice--the tension was soap-opera quality. I did not return the call because I figure it's a sales trick to get me to visit a car dealership OR pay the "dealer charges" to win my free car. Roger claims he's "not a telemarketer." Ha!
I said Hello 3 times befofe he said anything, then he said he must have the wrong number and said sorry and hung up without saying anything else.?????????828

Same as the above two commenters.
I only ever say hello once, which I did and then waited to see what would happen. After several seconds, someone said hello, I said hello and then caller said "oh I'm sorry, I have the wrong number".
Interesting info: I blocked my number and called back after reading comments here. I got a recording stating the usual BS about call may be recorded for training purposes (gotta love that one). I pressed 0 and got someone. I asked what they did. He said the company was "Reliable Info" which did customer service for over 40 companies in the building, did I have an extension.
