>> Some days, it's been a dozen or more calls within a few hours. It's outrageous. <<
Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore the Do Not Call list.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information.
If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

Just got the same call as above. Foreign accent, lots of background noise with other calls going on as well. Person gave me a lot of verbiage on how hackers had access to everything on my computer. Wanted me to give her control of the computer to "fix" it. Was upset when i said no.
I just received this call. I asked "Alan" how I could know he was who he claimed to be since my ID box showed no information, he gave me this phone number. When I asked "Alan" for a case or reference number so that I could call back later and ask for someone without a heavy accent, he insisted that I wouldn't need one and that I should ask for him and he would know. I checked out the number against the website for Windows Tech Support and it didn't match up.
I just got the call as well. He had an Indian accent and said my computer was being hacked. He got mad when I would not go to my computer. I asked for his number to call him back. He said what time. I hung up on him.
same as above, going by John Morrison.Claimed to be representing Microsoft Windows. Errors & warning signals coming from my computer. I said he name did not sound East Indian and he said he was from SRi Lanka.
