Yes, definitely a scam from low-lifes trying to get access to your computer (hence your passwords, credit card numbers, etc). They say they're from Microsoft, but Microsoft would never call you. Hang up and block them immediately. Also, report that number here so that others may benefit. Thanks!
I received a call from a person saying that he was from Microsoft and that I have issues with my Windows drivers on my HP computer. The problem is that I do not have an HP computer. He wanted me to press the control key next to my Windows key, I informed him that I am running on Linux but he did not know what that was. I told him it was a secure system and much better than Windows. He did not believe me and informed me that Windows was the most secure OS, then he hung up on me. Judging from what the caller was saying I would say that he wanted to get access to a computer and do his dirty work. The best thing to do with these callers is to string them along for as long as possible and waste their time. Have fun!
Just don't let them have access to you computer.

2nd time this phone number has called me. Same story as Peter was told above but I do know Microsoft would not call me so Ithe first time I hung up after he tried to persuade me to go to my computer a few times. The 2nd call came this morning, I recognized the number & did not answer.
