This number called me 5 times in the morning while I was at work but never left a message. I finally answered and said "Hello." They asked to speak to me and used my full name. I said "This is she". He started talking and I said that I was at work and could not talk. He said "The $3,000 loan you applied for has been approved." I said I didn't apply for a loan and he said "OH" and hung up. It is a SCAM. He used an Indian accent.
Things to remember about loans offered by phone or e-mail: (Pay attention to item #4!)
Loans
1. No reputable lender will lend you money over the phone.
2. No reputable lender will lend you money by e-mail
3. On-line lenders are nothing more than conduits for another loan scam.
4. Advance fees for loans are always illegal. At least in most American states.
5. If you want to borrow money, go to an established brick and mortar lender that has been around awhile.
6. If you receive a call from someone with an Indian accent either a. threatening you or b. offering you something, you know it’s a scam and you should hang up immediately.
7. These people are predators, the calls are not random, they have information that they have bought from various sources and know your financial history. If you have ever taken out a pay-day loan, they have all your information. They know who they are calling. They like to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and sometimes members of the immigrant community. Also, those who might be in financial difficulty.

This number calls me at least 8x a day.... I try and tell them to take my number of their list but they keep calling. So I started calling them back, and the guy was lewd making disgusting remarks so I told him I was going to report their number, and he just kept on with his lewd remarks. I did a trace call on my phone (*577) and called the Annoyance Call Bureau (800) 582-0655 and reported them as well.
This was on the Century Link website: Harassment prevention
Telephone harassment is a crime. If you receive threatening or obscene phone calls, you can trace who's calling you.
Call Trace is already installed on your line. You don't have to order it or have it installed, and you're only charged when you successfully complete a trace. (Note: This feature is available in most areas. However, if you attempt a trace and hear a fast-busy tone instead of recorded instructions, it's probably not offered in your area.)
After 3 successful traces, contact the CenturyLink Annoyance Call Bureau at 800-582-0655 for help resolving the problem. Or, if the situation is rapidly escalating and you feel your wellbeing is at risk, contact your local law enforcement agency for assistance.
This number has been calling me for a few days, up to 5X daily. I am on 'The Do Not Call Registry', but today was the worst, must have called at least 4X earlier in the day (I didn't bother to pick up), but than earlier this evening they called approx. 6X within 2 hours and always asked for ME, I had talked to this same person a few days ago, and asked to please not be contacted again. Now if & when I do answer, once I say Hello, they hung up on me.. My husband called them back and said they should take our number off their list, and I also called 'The Do Not Call Registry' and made a formal complaint. Going to get myself a whistle and blast their eardrums, the next time they should try to call - this is totally insane!
