Just got a recorded call that came in as +1911, there was a recorded message stating that I needed to call 850-702-2500 because there was law suit and a warrant for my arrest...stupidly, I called the number back and was told by a foreigner (claiming to be from the attorney generals office in Florida) stating that I needed to pay 450 to settle the debt or they would send paperwork to my states police...stupidly, I was buying into it because I have had some financial problems in the past...but the truth was, I didn't have 450 dollars to give him even if I wanted to...so I pretty much told him that he would have to go ahead and have the police contact me and I would work with them to take care of this matter...then he went on to say well if you cant pay 450 dollars how can you pay 5000 in court fees??? This was a bit of a red flag and then I continued to tell him there was nothing I could do as I simply didn't have 450 dollars to pay...after a few more intimidating tactics...I ended the call...went online to research the number and saw that this is a scam...then thinking back to the conversation, I realize that more than likely this is a scam and the guy got a hold of some public record of an outstanding debt and chose to try to scam me into thinking I had better pay him 450 over the phone or I will be arrested. ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND, THEY WILL NOT ARREST YOU OVER AN OUTSTANDING DEBT...at the very least you will have to go to court...DON'T LET THEM SCARE YOU!
I also just got a call that came up as +911 India...Recorded message telling me to call the Florida State's Attorney General. I did not call the number left. Just another scam!
Common Indian or Pakistani debt scamming operation. For some reason they like to pick Florida as the supposed source of the call. Say they are with either the AG or Sheriff somewhere in Florida. Total nonsensical scam. Ignore the calls and block them. Hindi accent should be a dead giveaway of a scam.
