I got a call today he said he was officer Kevin Williams state police and that I should call Florida police dept. and speak to officer Sam Wilson 850-424-1249. That I had only 30 min. to call or they had an arrest warrant with my SS# and would come to my house, arrest me with no bonds for 6 months.????
Officer Kevin Williams called 2 x yesterday he said he was with the state police in Florida and that they have a warrant for my arrest and that I should call Officer Sam Wilson 850-424-1249 . I had 30 min. or they would come pick me up and I would be held against no bonds and in jail for 6 months?????? At first it scared me and I call my son-in-law who is an attorney he said it's a scam NOT to call that number because then you will get charged and if a lot of people call that's how they make money. the called id showed 1911
Please tell your son in law that these are extortion scams, not call back number scams. Those call back scams usually involve foreign country's like the Caribbean islands or Jamaica.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
Your callers are located in India and Pakistan and as such beyond the reach of US law. This is a common scam and has been around awhile. A call blocker might help.
I just got a call from a 911 number saying that the attorney general is suing me and if I don't call this 850 number I was going to have a warrant put out for my arrest. I just hung up because I have never done anything that would require that to happen...
