They are paying this LEADS company to call for them. Obviously this is part of the same "leads" company that does these recorded messages about credit card debt and other financial junk.
856-229-9060 called my cell phone with an offer to lower my interest rates. First off, this is a brand new phone number so they couldn't have been trying to get ahold of me - I have excellent credit and no balances they can lower the interest rate on, unless they can pay me interest on a balance there's nothing better than 0% and debtfree. Second, I've already registered for the national do not call registry; even though 31 days haven't no passed, this isn't right. Third, I've already opted out of my cell phone provider's marketing and affiliate sharing, plus its been less than 45 days so they couldn't possibly have sold it already (at least not while I've been the accound holder) as that would violate their own privacy policies not to mention some Federal and State laws allowing you time to decide and opt out/in. Lastly, I contacted my new cell phone provider and they offered to block the number for 3 months without charge.
missed call from this number. called back and an automated message said if I wanted to be removed from their call list to dial "1". immediate response said I was removed and to allow 3-4 weeks for processing.
Called today with automated message with a offer of "eligibility" to lower my credit card interest. Message asked me to hold for a live operator. I've been on the do not call registry for years and filed a complaint at donotcall.gov.
