They are paying this LEADS company to call for them. Obviously this is part of the same "leads" company that does these recorded messages about credit card debt and other financial junk.
It is illegal throught the whole US for a company to call your "CELL" phone unsolicited. You don't have to be on a "Do not call" list for your cell. Don't take my word for it... look it up!
It is a scam. Anytime you see a caller I.D. with something like "Important" or "Credit Card" or something generic from a caller outside your area code don't answer. They use an auto dialer that calls several numbers at a time and the first one to answer gets the BS pitch. If the autodialer unsuccessfully calls you several times it will probably drop your number and put a new one on the list. They are going to try to convince you to give them personal information to "verify" your identity. DONT give them any if you have the misfortune of speaking to them. These are essentially phishing scams attempting to collect information to defraud you in the future. They don't care about laws and are not afraid of you reporting it. In many cases they expect to be caught some day, but by then have stolen and hidden millions of dollars. They hire expensive attorneys do a short time in a federal pen or probation some fines but still walk away a millionaire for their efforts. We live in a time when people who don't care about consequences prey upon those that do. By placing your name on a list you are obviously someone who believes that in doing so your are going to be protected and furthermore believes in right and wrong and possibly could be lied to in a convincing fashion. They will lie to you. they will falsify and forge documents they will rob you of your savings. Simply put, if you play by the rules you have to be very careful. These people are criminals, and as such there is no respect or concern as to the consequences of their actions. There are not enough federal agents to prevent this, local agents are to busy with local crimes and don't have jurisdiction over someone calling from states away. Good luck, Ignore the calls. If you answer they know there is a potential victim at that number and they will continue to call.
